The Levi’s® 501® is one of the single most iconic pieces of clothing in human history. So for this 150 year milestone, we wanted to pay homage to that legacy by telling the exploits of 501® wearers. Because when it comes to the 501®, fact is definitely stranger than fiction. Running across 37 markets and 19 languages, directors Melina Matsoukas and Martin de Thurah and photographers Jason Nocito & Andre D. Wagner helped capture the incredible true tales. Stories of traded cows, broken legs, denim bans, wanted ads, perfect creases, loving marriages, torrid affairs, Andy Warhol crashing the White House in blue jeans. Every story became a page that made up an anthology unfolding throughout the year.
